Recruitment website and career-site platform, with an optional built-in ATS

Primary sources checked

Serena

Serena builds and runs recruitment websites: career sites with job sync, employer-brand content, source tracking and an integration layer the vendor puts at 45-plus connections. It ships with its own ATS, and connecting an external one is a paid add-on on the entry tier.

The short answer

Best for
A recruitment or employer-brand team that treats the careers site as infrastructure โ€” jobs synced from the ATS, sources attributed, culture content maintained without a developer
Not ideal for
Anyone shopping for a system of record: the built-in ATS comes along for the ride, but the purchase being made here is recruitment web infrastructure
Price
From EUR 49/month for a onepager; Basic EUR 79/month, Advanced EUR 249, Enterprise EUR 650

Why these assessments
Recruitment fitStrong
It is a recruitment product rather than a CMS with a jobs plugin: job sync, source tracking, culture and employer-brand modules, and named integrations with Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, SmartRecruiters, Teamtailor, iCIMS, Carerix and others.
Ease of useUnknown
SourcrLab has not built a site in it. Editing experience is the daily reality of a website platform and the thing a demo shows least honestly, so no claim is made either way.
ImplementationFair
Free-trial calls-to-action exist on the entry tiers and the platform is built for marketers rather than developers, but a careers site is still a content and design project. The work is not the software, and no self-serve tier removes it.
Price transparencyStrong
Four price points are published with their limits attached โ€” vacancy counts, user counts, what the annual toggle saves, and the separate EUR 49/month charge for connecting an external ATS on Basic. Very little in this category publishes that much.
Value for moneyUnknown
Not assessed. The prices are clear and the tier limits are stated, but the value of a careers-site platform is decided by conversion and search performance on your own roles, which no public evidence establishes here.
ScalabilityStrong
The tiers scale on the axis that actually matters for a careers site โ€” 20 vacancies on Basic, 250 on Advanced, 2,500 on Enterprise โ€” with multilingual support arriving at Advanced and SSO at Enterprise.

The SourcrLab bottom line

Built by recruitment practitioners for recruitment websites, and it shows in what is included by default: job sync, source attribution, culture and employer-brand modules, and a marketplace and integration layer the vendor puts at more than 45 connections with Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, SmartRecruiters, Teamtailor, Homerun, Recruitee, iCIMS, Oracle, Salesforce, AFAS, Jobylon and Carerix among the featured names. Pricing is unusually legible for the category, running from EUR 49/month for a onepager through EUR 79, EUR 249 and EUR 650 tiers with vacancy and user limits stated. The vendor asked to be called Serena rather than Serena CMS, and the reason is a real one: the marketplace, developer portal and community are now part of the positioning, and 'CMS' undersells what is being bought.

Best fit

A team for whom the careers site is a working part of the hiring machine rather than a brochure: jobs arriving from the ATS automatically, applications attributed back to the channel that produced them, and employer-brand content that a marketer can change without a developer. That is a narrower and more useful description than 'recruitment website', and it is what the product is organised around.

Think twice if

Read the Basic tier carefully if you already have an ATS. Serena includes its own, and connecting an external one costs EUR 49/month on top of the EUR 79 base โ€” so the realistic entry price for a team keeping its existing system is EUR 128/month, not EUR 79. On Advanced the connection is included, which changes where the tier boundary actually falls for that buyer.

Everything on this page comes from the vendor's own pages, checked on the dates below. SourcrLab has not used this product in real recruitment work, so you will not find a first-hand opinion here.

Why choose Serena?

Job sync and source attribution are built in

Vacancies arrive from the connected system and applications carry their source back out. On a generic CMS both of those are an integration project; here they are the reason the platform exists, and the difference shows up in whether anyone can say which channel produced a hire.

An integration layer aimed at real recruitment stacks

The platform page states 45-plus integrations, and the featured names are the systems recruitment teams actually run: Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, SmartRecruiters, Teamtailor, Homerun, Recruitee, iCIMS, Oracle, Salesforce, AFAS, Jobylon and Carerix. That list is a better signal of fit than any feature count.

Prices with their limits attached

Basic EUR 79/month up to 20 vacancies and two users, Advanced EUR 249 up to 250 vacancies with multilingual support, Enterprise EUR 650 up to 2,500 vacancies with SSO and priority support. Publishing the ceiling next to the price is what lets a buyer work out which tier they are actually in.

Main trade-offs

The entry tier charges extra for your own ATS

Basic includes Serena's own ATS; connecting an external one is EUR 49/month more. A buyer keeping their existing system is therefore comparing EUR 128/month against Advanced at EUR 249 with the connection included, which is a narrower gap than the headline prices suggest.

Do not buy it as an ATS

Serena ATS exists and comes with the platform, and that is not the same as choosing it as your system of record. The buying decision here is recruitment web and marketing infrastructure; treating the bundled ATS as the reason to switch systems would be over-reading what the evidence supports.

Compliance detail is not published

Formal security and compliance certifications were not established. A careers site collects applications, which means candidate personal data, so a buyer with a procurement process should ask rather than assume โ€” the published pricing detail does not extend to this.

How it fits your stack

Works with

  • Named ATS and HR systems including Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, SmartRecruiters, Teamtailor, Homerun, Recruitee, iCIMS, Oracle, Salesforce, AFAS, Jobylon and Carerix
  • Recruitment marketing and employer-brand content workflows

Likely replaces

  • A general-purpose CMS carrying a bolted-on jobs section
  • A developer-maintained careers site with manual job updates

May overlap with

  • The careers-page module of an ATS you already own

Check before buying

  • Whether you need the external-ATS connection, which is a EUR 49/month add-on on Basic and included from Advanced
  • Your own ATS by name, and what the integration actually synchronises
  • Security and compliance documentation, which is not published

Teamtailor logo
Teamtailor

Choose Teamtailor when you want the careers site and the applicant tracking system to be one purchase from one vendor, rather than a site platform connected to an ATS you keep.

Consider Homerun for a small in-house team that wants attractive job pages and light applicant tracking together, without a separate website platform to maintain.
