Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are
SourcrLab is an independent comparison platform for recruitment tools, operated from Belgium (EU). We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Belgian data protection law.
2. What Data We Collect
We collect minimal data:
- Newsletter subscriptions. if you voluntarily subscribe, we store your email address for the sole purpose of sending you updates about recruitment tools.
- Language preference. we store a cookie to remember your preferred display language (EN or NL).
- Usage measurement, only if you accept. if you accept on the analytics banner, we record how the site is used. On our own servers that means: the pages you open, with the page address, the link that referred you, your approximate country and your browser's user agent; how far down a page you scroll and how long you stay on it; where on the page you click, including your window size and the text or CSS selector of the element you clicked; and a short list of named steps, such as starting the Advisor, viewing results, opening a tool and clicking through to a vendor. Only those named steps and the vendor clicks carry the random journey number that ties one visit together (see section 5). the page, scroll and click records do not. Google Analytics receives only the named steps, never the journey number. None of it is tied to your name or email, and none of it follows you to other websites. Accept nothing and none of it is recorded; the site works the same either way.
- Recruiter reviews, only if you submit one. if you choose to review a tool, we store the LinkedIn profile URL you enter, your review text, your consent and the date, plus the moderation state. We do not ask for your name or email and we fetch nothing from LinkedIn automatically. A person at SourcrLab looks at the profile you supplied to check that it belongs to a recruitment professional and records the display name shown there. Once published, that name, your review text and a link to the profile you supplied are public. You can ask us to change or remove your review at any time by emailing pieter@recruitrlab.be and mentioning your profile URL.
3. What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect personal data beyond what is listed above. No accounts, no profiles, no email for reviews, and no name unless a review of yours is published under it.
- We do not build a profile of you on our own systems. The journey number expires after 30 minutes of inactivity, so it cannot accumulate into a history, and we set no advertising cookies. Google Analytics keeps its own cookie for longer, which section 5 sets out.
- We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not pass it to advertisers or data brokers. Google Analytics is the one third party that receives usage data, and only after you accept.
4. How We Use Your Data
- Email addresses are used only to send newsletter updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Cookies are used for two functional purposes (your language preference and your analytics choice) and, only after you explicitly accept on the analytics banner, for measurement: a random journey identifier that ties the events of one visit together for first-party funnel attribution, plus Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies. Analytics stay off until you accept, and rejecting changes nothing about how the site works. You can withdraw your choice at any time in section 5; withdrawing stops measurement and deletes the journey identifier.
5. Cookies
Two cookies are needed for the site to work. The rest measure how the site is used and appear only if you say yes: our own journey number, plus the cookies Google Analytics sets itself.

The first two are strictly functional and track no personal data, so they are exempt from consent. For sl_jid and Google Analytics we ask, and without a yes nothing happens: no cookie, no Google Analytics, no measurement. The site works exactly the same either way. Turn it back off and measurement stops there and then — including a Google Analytics that had already loaded — we delete sl_jid, and we expire the _ga cookies.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access. request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectification. ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure. ask us to delete your data (e.g., unsubscribe from the newsletter).
- Portability. request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Complaint. lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (GBA/APD).

Our platform contains links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
