Lightweight AI hiring platform
ResearchedRecruta
A lightweight hiring platform, free to start, that pairs a simple ATS with Ares, an autonomous agent that sources on LinkedIn, GitHub and the open web, contacts candidates and runs AI voice interviews. Mid-rebrand to the name Hyris.
The short answer
- Best for
- A startup or small company that wants to publish a job, embed it on its site and get a ranked shortlist without buying a full ATS project first
- Not ideal for
- Teams that need proven integrations, compliance depth or vendor stability; the company is young, lightly reviewed and renaming itself to Hyris mid-flight
- Price
- Free plan, then USD 79.99/month; teams from USD 499.99/month
- Closest alternative

Why these assessments
- Recruitment fitStrong
- This is purpose-built recruiting software end to end: jobs, career pages, pipeline, candidate ranking and a sourcing-and-screening agent. Nothing here is a general tool bent into hiring.
- Ease of useUnknown
- The free plan is the honest way to answer this and SourcrLab has not run a hire through it. A tool this young can be delightfully simple or visibly unfinished, and only use tells you which.
- ImplementationStrong
- Sign up, publish a job with a public link, add the careers widget to your site with a script tag. There is nothing to migrate and no procurement between the free plan and real use.
- Price transparencyFair
- The tiers and prices are on the home page, which is more than many AI recruiting vendors publish, but the quotas are metered in AI calls, tokens and megabytes, units no hiring team can map to vacancies filled.
- Value for moneyUnknown
- Whether USD 79.99 a month is cheap or expensive depends entirely on whether Ares's shortlists and voice interviews hold up in practice, and no independent evidence of that exists yet.
- ScalabilityFair
- There is a path from free to Pro to a team plan, but Pro caps at five public jobs and multiple users only arrive at USD 499.99 a month, a six-fold jump a growing team hits abruptly.

The SourcrLab bottom line
Recruta is two products in one page: a genuinely lightweight ATS, with AI-written job posts, public and embeddable listings, a kanban pipeline and candidate ranking, and Ares, an autonomous agent that sources on LinkedIn, GitHub and the open web, contacts candidates over multiple channels and runs AI voice interviews. Pricing is published and starts free, which makes evaluation cheap. The reservations are equally concrete: an in-flight rebrand to Hyris, quotas metered in tokens rather than hires, a hard jump to the team tier, and headline claims that no independent source has yet tested.
Best fit
A founder or office manager who is also the recruiter: publish a job written by the AI, embed it on the company site, let applications land in a kanban pipeline, and let Ares source and pre-screen while nobody is watching. The free plan means trying that costs an afternoon, not a budget line.
Think twice if
You would be building your hiring process on a young vendor that is renaming itself from Recruta to Hyris while you evaluate it, whose boldest numbers are its own, and whose agent contacts candidates in your name by phone, WhatsApp and SMS. Each of those deserves a deliberate decision, not a shrug.
SourcrLab assessment
Everything on this page comes from the vendor's own pages, checked on the dates below. SourcrLab has not used this product in real recruitment work, so you will not find a first-hand opinion here.
Why choose Recruta?
Live the same afternoon, free
The free plan carries the core workflow: create a job, get a public link, embed listings on your own site with a script tag, collect applications into a pipeline. There is no trial clock and no credit card, so validating the tool against one real vacancy costs nothing but the vacancy.
An agent, not just a pipeline
Ares does the outbound work a small team never gets to: it searches LinkedIn, GitHub and the open web around the clock, scores profiles against the job, and contacts promising candidates by call, WhatsApp or SMS, offering interview slots directly in Google or Outlook calendars. That is sourcing capacity a company without a recruiter simply does not otherwise have.
Screening before you show up
The agent runs real-time AI voice interviews that probe communication, soft skills and technical depth, and hands you an analysis report before you meet anyone. For a hiring manager doing recruitment on the side, arriving at a shortlist that has already been spoken to is the difference the product is selling.
Everything from post to shortlist in one place
Job writing, hosted career pages, embeds, source tracking, a kanban pipeline and candidate ranking sit in one product instead of a spreadsheet plus four point tools. For the team this targets, replacing the Notion board and the shared inbox is most of the value even before the agent runs.
Main trade-offs
The vendor is renaming itself under you
The company presents itself as Hyris, previously Recruta, and runs both recruta.xyz and hyris.io during the transition. Rebrands at this stage often move domains, documentation and support channels. Before committing, ask which name, domain and contract entity you are actually buying from and what happens to candidate-facing URLs.
Quotas in tokens, not hires
Plans are metered in AI calls per day, tokens per day and megabytes of storage. Nobody planning a hiring quarter can predict what five interviews and two hundred applicants cost in those units. Run your realistic volume through the free plan and Pro before trusting that the tier you picked survives a busy month.
A six-fold jump to work as a team
Pro at USD 79.99 caps at five public jobs, and multiple users per organisation only arrive in the USD 499.99 team plan. A company that outgrows one seat and five vacancies faces the whole gap at once, which is exactly the moment switching to another ATS is still cheap. Model that moment before you standardise.
The boldest numbers are the vendor's own
Claims like 98.4 percent match accuracy and up to 80 percent faster time-to-hire appear only on the vendor's own pages; independent review coverage is close to nonexistent. Treat them as marketing until your own pilot reproduces them, and judge the agent on the shortlist it hands you, not on the percentage on the landing page.
An AI calls your candidates in your name
Autonomous outreach and voice interviews over phone, WhatsApp and SMS shape how candidates experience your company, and in EU hiring they raise consent, transparency and data-protection questions the buyer answers for, not the vendor. Listen to real interview recordings and check the GDPR posture before the agent speaks for you.

How it fits your stack
Works with
- Your own website, through the embeddable careers widget and public job links
- Google and Outlook calendars, for interview slots Ares offers candidates
- LinkedIn, GitHub and the open web, as the channels Ares sources from
Likely replaces
- The spreadsheet or Notion board a small company tracks applicants in
- Manual first-round screening calls for high-volume roles
- Paying an agency for the first sourced longlist on common roles
May overlap with
- Small-team ATS products such as Breezy HR, Homerun and Recooty
- AI interview and screening tools, on the voice-interview side
- Sourcing automation tools, on the outbound side
Check before buying
- Which name, domain and legal entity you contract with during the Recruta-to-Hyris rebrand
- What your realistic monthly volume consumes in AI calls, tokens and storage on the tier you plan to buy
- GDPR and consent handling for AI voice calls, WhatsApp and SMS outreach to EU candidates
- Actual quality of Ares shortlists and interview reports on one of your own vacancies, via the free plan
Recruta vs alternatives
Products a buyer would genuinely put next to this one, with the reason you would pick each instead.
Choose Breezy HR when you want a free-to-start, company-priced ATS from a more established vendor, with job board distribution instead of an autonomous agent
Choose Homerun when a designed careers page and employer-brand presentation matter more than AI sourcing and screening
Choose Recooty when you want a simple small-business ATS with headcount-based pricing and quotas you can actually predict
