One-way (asynchronous) video interviewing

Researched

Hireflix

A one-way video interview platform: candidates record answers to preset questions on their own time and device, and the hiring team reviews the recordings together afterwards. No live or synchronous interviews.

Why these assessments
Recruitment fitStrong
Built specifically for one-way screening interviews: question sets, candidate self-recording and team review are the whole product.
Ease of useUnknown
We have not used it. No app, login or registration is required on the candidate side, which is a real design choice, but we cannot judge the reviewer-side experience ourselves.
ImplementationStrong
Self-serve signup, no app for candidates to install, and unlimited seats, positions and responses on every tier. Nothing here suggests a migration project.
Price transparencyStrong
Small and Medium both carry a public price on both billing cycles, and every plan includes every feature, so there is no hidden feature-gating to price around, only company size.
Value for moneyUnknown
We have no hands-on use to weigh against the price.
ScalabilityFair
Small and Medium are both clearly priced, but the Custom tier for agencies and high-volume hiring is quote-only, so growth into that segment cannot be modelled from the pricing page alone.

The SourcrLab bottom line

A one-way video interview platform with an unusually clean pricing structure: two published, self-serve tiers by company size, every feature included on every tier, and a quote-only Custom tier for agencies and high-volume hiring. Sixteen ATS integrations are named on the vendor's own integrations page, though that list does not fully match a shorter one on the pricing page or a third, partly different one on G2 โ€” treat the integrations page as the more complete source. SOC 2 and GDPR compliance are both claimed; SOC 2 is a badge claim with no named auditor or report type, which is thinner sourcing than some competitors offer.

Best fit

A team running first-round screening at real volume that wants candidates recording answers on their own time rather than coordinating live calls, and wants a published price without a sales call, at least up to 250 employees.

Think twice if

Teams that need structured, scored competency scorecards across interviewers rather than free-text rating and comments, and anyone assuming this also does live interviews: it does not, and there is no option to add that. It is one-way only.

SourcrLab assessment

Everything on this page comes from the vendor's own pages, checked on the dates below. SourcrLab has not used this product in real recruitment work, so you will not find a first-hand opinion here.

Why choose Hireflix?

Every plan includes every feature

There is no feature-gated upsell path here. Small and Medium differ only by company size and support level; branding, custom domains, API access, SSO and video transcription are on every tier.

No app or login for candidates

Candidates get a shareable link and record from a browser on any device, with the experience available in 21 languages. That removes a real source of drop-off in async screening.

A wide, named ATS integration list

Sixteen ATS platforms are named on the vendor's integrations page, including Lever, Greenhouse, BambooHR, Ashby and Workable, with Zapier and Make covering the rest and an open GraphQL API with webhooks for anything custom.

Independently strong review numbers

We checked G2 directly: 439 reviews at a 5.0/5 average, 436 of them five-star. That is a real, independently verifiable number, not a vendor-cited one.

Main trade-offs

One-way only, with no live option

The product, the FAQ and the vendor's own HireVue-comparison blog post all position this against scheduling live calls, not alongside them. If your process needs a live or hybrid video interview at some stage, that has to come from elsewhere.

Transcription is automatic, not marketed as AI

The pricing page lists 'Automatic Video Transcriptions'. The word 'AI' does not appear anywhere on the homepage or pricing page. The feature is real; calling it an AI feature would be our own embellishment, not the vendor's claim.

No structured, scored scorecards

Team review is free-text rating and commenting on responses, with variable playback speed. There is no weighted, structured competency-scorecard system for comparing candidates consistently across interviewers.

SOC 2 is a badge claim, not a linked certificate

'SOC 2 compliant' appears in the footer and the pricing feature list, with no auditor named, no Type I/II distinction, and no link to a report. Ask for the certificate directly if compliance is a requirement rather than a nice-to-have.

No stated retention period for candidate recordings

'Automatic candidate video deletion' is listed as a feature, but no default or maximum retention window is published. The privacy policy only says data is deleted 'upon termination of the provision of the Services... unless retention is required by law', which is a generic clause rather than a specific number.

Pricing and buying reality

From USD 75 a month billed annually, for companies under 50 employees

  • Small (fewer than 50 employees): USD 75/month billed annually, USD 150/month billed monthly
  • Medium (50 to 250 employees): USD 150/month billed annually, USD 300/month billed monthly
  • Custom: for corporates, high-volume hiring, recruitment agencies and other use cases โ€” quote-only
  • All plans include all features: unlimited seats, positions and responses. Company size is the only variable across tiers
  • 1-month free trial, no credit card required
  • 20% off the first year for NGOs or companies founded in the last 2 years, on request

What we do not know

  • Custom/agency pricing
  • Default retention period for candidate video and audio recordings
  • SOC 2 report type (I or II) and the auditor

How it fits your stack

Works with

  • Lever, BambooHR, Teamtailor, Greenhouse, Zoho Recruit, JazzHR, SmartRecruiters, Ashby, Pinpoint, Workable, Loxo, Manatal, Recruitee, Recruiterflow, 50Skills and TalentClue, named on the vendor's integrations page
  • Zapier and Make for anything not natively integrated, plus an open GraphQL API with webhooks

Likely replaces

  • Live first-round phone or video screening calls scheduled one candidate at a time

May overlap with

  • Spark Hire and HireVue, the other established one-way and hybrid video interview platforms

Check before buying

  • Whether Custom/agency pricing fits your volume, since it is quote-only
  • The retention period for candidate recordings, directly with the vendor
  • Which integration list actually matches your ATS: the vendor's own pages and G2 do not fully agree
