Why these assessments
- Recruitment fitStrong
- Formatting a candidate CV into an agency template before sending it to a client is a task that exists nowhere else. This is agency work, specifically.
- Ease of useUnknown
- The workflow is upload and receive, which is about as simple as software gets. What we cannot judge without using it is how often the output needs a human to fix it.
- ImplementationStrong
- Set up a template, start uploading. Unlimited users and no contract mean the whole desk can be on it the same afternoon, and nothing has to be migrated.
- Price transparencyStrong
- Every action is priced separately and published to the penny, with the volume bands stated. There is nothing left to negotiate and nothing hidden in a tier.
- Value for moneyUnknown
- At under a pound per CV the arithmetic looks obvious, but it only holds if the formatted document goes to the client untouched. Rework is the variable we have not measured.
- ScalabilityStrong
- Unit rates drop in the 250 to 500 and 500-plus bands and users are unlimited, so growth makes the product cheaper per CV rather than more expensive per person.

The SourcrLab bottom line
A narrow utility that does one unglamorous job well enough to price by the unit. Formatting at GBP 0.90 a CV with no contract and unlimited users is easy to trial and easy to stop, which is the right shape for a tool that either saves your resourcers an hour a day or does not. The adjacent features, vacancy criteria and assessment reports, are cheap enough to test alongside. Judge it on one week of real client submissions and count how many needed manual correction afterwards.
Best fit
An agency desk that sends formatted candidate profiles to clients as a matter of course. Twenty minutes of reformatting per submission is invisible on a timesheet and enormous across a year, and this is priced far below what that time costs.
Think twice if
The candidate search side is built around a UK data pool, so a European or global agency should evaluate the formatting on its own merits and treat the resourcing features as unproven for their market until tested.

Why choose CVME?
You can price it against the actual task
GBP 0.90 per formatted CV is directly comparable with the fifteen or twenty minutes a resourcer spends doing it by hand. Almost no recruitment software lets you make that comparison without a spreadsheet of assumptions, and here it is one multiplication.
Unlimited users and no contract
Everybody on the desk can use it without a licence decision, and stopping costs nothing. For a utility rather than a system, that is exactly right: the tool has to keep earning its place every month rather than surviving on a renewal date.
The volume bands work in your favour
Unit rates fall in the 250 to 500 and 500-plus monthly bands, so the busiest desks pay the least per CV. That is the opposite of the usual pattern where heavy use triggers an upgrade conversation.
The extras are cheap enough to test
Optimisation at GBP 0.15, vacancy criteria at GBP 0.40 and an assessment report at GBP 0.03 mean the adjacent features cost pennies to try on live work rather than requiring a decision. Very few products let you evaluate a feature for the price of a coffee.
Main trade-offs
Rework destroys the arithmetic
If a formatted CV needs five minutes of correction before it can go to a client, the saving is largely gone. Test with your ugliest real CVs, the two-column designer layouts and the scanned PDFs, not with the tidy ones, and count corrections.
The candidate data is UK-shaped
The resourcing and search proposition rests on a UK-focused candidate pool. Outside the UK that half of the product may add little, so evaluate the formatting and the searching as two separate decisions rather than one.
Per-unit costs are invisible until they are not
Pay as you go removes the buying decision, which also removes the moment anyone checks the spend. Set an internal monthly expectation and review the invoice against it, because a busy quarter can quietly multiply the number of formatted documents.
You are sending candidate CVs to a third party
Every formatted document is a full CV, which is personal data of a candidate who consented to your process, not necessarily to another processor. Confirm the processing terms, where documents are stored, how long, and what the GBP 0.01 storage line actually retains.
Pricing and buying reality
Pay as you go, from GBP 0.90 per formatted CV
- Below 250 CVs per month: formatting GBP 0.90, optimisation GBP 0.15, storage GBP 0.01, vacancy criteria GBP 0.40 and an assessment report GBP 0.03
- Unit rates fall in the 250 to 500 and 500-plus monthly volume bands, so heavier use costs less per document
- Users are unlimited and there is no contract; a free trial is available and bespoke arrangements are offered on request
What we do not know
- The exact unit rates in the 250 to 500 and 500-plus bands
- Whether banding is applied per document or across the whole month
- How much control you have over the output template and branding
- Where candidate documents are stored, for how long, and under what processing terms
- Whether an ATS integration exists or documents move by hand
